Festive Holiday Tables

It is amazing how quickly summer goes by, only to be met right around the corner with the holiday season. There is truly never a dull moment! The tough part is finding time to actually enjoy the holiday cheer in your own home – with items you already have! While going out and buying festive décor for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and more is a good plan for some, you might be surprised to see how easy (and fun) it is to transition your tabletop to a Halloween treat or a Thanksgiving blessing to behold!

If you are at all familiar with our tabletop blog posts, then you are probably familiar with our love of mixing and matching to make the most of your fine china. Decorating for the holidays is no different. It just provides for a little more creativity! We will share some options to help with your holiday tabletops ranging from chargers and service plates to table linens and more – all in colors to inspire festive looks!

However, first things first and we are excited to share some decorative tabletop pictures that were recently taken in the gift shop at Bering’s on Westheimer! …This fall meets Halloween inspired tabletop is a chic way of setting your table for the holiday without going over the line and making it “too done up!” Less is more usually applies, and as previously mentioned, decorating for the holidays is no different!

This tablescape is set to perfection with Mottahedeh’s Chinese Red service plates with Herend’s Chinese Bouquet dinner plates, Karen Lee Ballard napkins, and La Maison’s Opperette crystal stemware.

And if you zoom in a bit closer, you will notice some scary potions! Let’s just say these are not Love Potion #9! No, no – these are far from it! These potions are a ghoulish way to add a bit of humor to your tabletop.

Moving right on to Thanksgiving, here are two beautiful options!
Vietri’s Affresco dinner plate paired with Arte Italica’s Chianti salad plate and charger exudes the beauty of fall! Also framing out this tabletop look are Karen Lee Ballard napkins, a festive napkin ring and Bethany Lowe figurines!

Here is another place setting colorfully decorated in fall hues!

Regardless of your china pattern, red, orange, black or blue, try to picture incorporating items previously mentioned, or pictured, as well as items mentioned below to help inspire you for the upcoming holiday season. While any color pattern works, these green and red patterns can easily be transformed to holiday perfection with a little a holiday center piece, linens or the obvious – holiday meal!

If you happen to be one of the many lucky owners of a bone china (white) setting, then you have the holidays made in the shade! You can easily razzle dazzle your setting with any number of accents to instantly bring it up to speed for holidays, birthdays and more! Take any of the patterns below and set them on a beautiful charger or service plate, placemat, runner or tablecloth and voila!

Chargers are one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to transition your place setting to a formal fete! This Arte Italica charger is a classic that can be dressed up or down and is the perfect base for most any china setting.

Pickard is another fine china manufacturer that produces some of the most elegant as well as colorful options to dress up your setting. For example, if you have an all green and white place setting you might choose to use a red or crimson charger for a Christmas look. Or a brown or burnt orange for more of a fall, Halloween or Thanksgiving theme.

Mottahedeh, Anna Weatherley and Annie Glass are three more manufacturers that offer absolutely beautiful options for chargers.

Kim Seybert’s bias silk organza napkins are 100% silk and are perfect for adding depth and elegance to your table settings. They are truly special for big family or friendly gatherings. Don’t you love the colors?

As always, family and friends are the ultimate addition to any holiday meal and table; however, treating loved ones to a festive first impression is nice way of showing them you hope their meal is one to remember! We hope at least one of these options sticks with you and serves as inspiration for your next gathering – no matter how big or small. …Happy holidays!

WE PURCHASED FOUR LARGE BLACK FORMAL DINNER NAPKINS AT BERING’S
SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THESE SOLID BLACK DINNER NAPKINS HAD A DEMIS
PATTERN ON THEM. RECENTLY, THEY NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. AND WE TOOK THEM TO PILGRIM’S CLEANERS. AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT, THEY HAVE
LOST ONE OF THE FOUR. SO I AM TRYING TO GET AN IDEA OF HOW MUCH FOUR NEW ONES WOULD COST, SO THAT I COULD PRESENT THAT FIGURE TO PILGRIM’S FOR REIMBURSEMENT. REPLACING JUST ONE WOULD LOOK FUNNY AND NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. WE WILL NEED FOR THEM TO REPLACE
ALL FOUR. COULD YOU PLEASE SEE IF YOU STILL HAVE FOUR (OR MORE) SOLID BLACK DEMIS FORMAL DINNER NAPKINS IN STOCK FOR US ? THANKS.

Thanks for the question. Most of our napkins are in the $20-$30 range, but you would be best off coming in and visiting with a gift shop consultant to confirm the number.
