Bering’s Wedding Feature, Katherine & Chris

Live from Bering’s, we have a hometown feature you don’t want to miss! Houston’s very own, Katherine Whaley and Chris Wadley will be married this Spring and while you might be familiar with Katherine due her wonderful reporting on-air for ABC’s KTRK Houston, you should know that we think Chris is every bit as wonderful as she is, resulting in one incredible couple! It is with great joy that we share that the couple decided to do their wedding registry with us, as well as their thank you cards!

This little cheerleader picked the right initial for her costume, as she is marrying Chris and continues to wear the same beautiful grin. Fun to note is that the two actually met at a Halloween party a couple of years ago. The two connected over Facebook and the rest is history!

According to Chris, Katherine is a fairly traditional woman, and very close with her family. Her parents were celebrating their 40^th anniversary on The Big Island, Hawaii, and made perfect sense for him propose to Katherine with only her immediate family around. They had a private dinner planned on the beach to celebrate the special day for her parents, and right before the meal and sunset, he proposed. Her parents were ‘in’ on it and had given Chris their blessing. It was a day that none of them will forget!

…Speaking of Katherine being close with her family, we loved getting to visit with Katherine’s mother, Mrs. Whaley when the two came in to register. We now know who Katherine gets her glowing personality from! Katherine’s mother pointed out that while she has two daughters, Katherine is the first to get married and it has been so much fun being part of the planning process.

Since previously mentioned (as well as photographed above), Katherine grew up in Houston and was familiar with our wedding registry. However, we loved hearing about their added commentary as to why they decided to register at Bering’s. According to Chris, “We knew that we wanted to register at Bering’s, but when we found out about the rewards and incentives we were even more excited. The 20% discount on any unfulfilled items on the registry is a great benefit. Plus, we love the flexible returns and exchange policy. Katherine was thrilled with the selection of beautiful fine china and stoneware, and I am excited to register for a brand new fire pit and BBQ tools.” Thanks for the nice note, Chris! …And did we mention that they started their wedding registry (or as we like to refer to as their ‘Couple’s Registry’) off right with a new Big Green Egg mini max?! We think it is so fun that while Chris likes grilling, Katherine is an even bigger fan of having a Big Green Egg! After all, she is also a food editor and reporter!! All of us at Bering’s are looking forward to hearing about the delicious meals the two prepare on their Big Green Egg Mini Max!

Since Katherine and Chris enjoy casual entertaining, they selected plates and bakeware from Casafina, as well as wine glasses from Le Cadeaux to use on their outdoor patio.
